Students at Elkins Pointe Middle School enjoy numerous sports opportunities with the intramural and extramural programs that are available. The school has tennis courts, full indoor gym, and an athletic track. Click on the FORMS link to view Extramural and Intramural forms.
For the 2011-2012, our students will be able to participate in the following sports:
FALL SPORTS
Tennis September to late October for 7th and 8th grades only
Volleyball Late September through early November for 7th and 8th grades only
Soccer Early September through early October for 7th and 8th grades only
WINTER SPORTS
Girls Basketball The 7th grade season starts in Mid December and last through January. The 8th grade season starts in Mid January and last though early March.
Boys Basketball The 7th grade season starts in Mid December and last through January. The 8th grade season starts in Mid January and last though early March.
SPRING SPORTS
Track Early March to mid April: 7th, and 8th graders

Extramural Tryouts
All students trying out for extramural teams must have a physical on file. Students may ask the coaches or you may print one directly from our Forms page of our website.
Intramurals
Intramurals are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:05PM to 5:15PM.
Students who stay for intramurals must have a current intramural registration form on file with Coach Johnson and must dress out. Dressing out means wearing athletic clothing & shoes.
ALL STUDENTS WHO STAY FOR INTRAMURALS OR EXTRAMURALS MUST BE PICKED UP BY 5:15P.M. THANK YOU FOR YOUR COOPERATION.

What is the difference between intramurals and extramurals?Intramurals are sports activities offered that students in all grade levels may participate after school.
Extramurals are school teams that play other schools in scheduled competitions. The extramural teams sports available are Tennis, Volleyball, Soccer, Tumbling, Track, and Girls and Boys Basketball.
Do the students need a physical to participate?Only the students participating in extramural activities need a physical.
Are all grade levels allowed to come out for intramurals and extramurals?
All students may participate in intramurals, but extramural teams are limited to 7th and 8th grade students.
What are the intramural activities offered?
The activities offered change with each season. Our coaches inform the students by posting the intramural activities on their bulletin boards and we include the information in Friday notes and our website.
Do the students have to come each day?
Students participating in intramurals come on any days they wish. These are activities for them and not practices for future teams.
*Students who are competing on the extramural teams will be expected to be at practices designated by the coach of each sport.
